SCOTTVILLE — Journey Alternative Education school is officially closed after the Mason County Central school board voted Monday to dissolve the school, with the provision that in the future, there will be a better “Plan B.”
Board members voted unanimously to dissolve Journey, but several of them noted that it is with regret.
“I am still struggling with it,” board Vice President Jeff Barnett said. “And that there is nothing set up right now, I just wanted it on record that I am still struggling with it.”
Barnett explained he thought there should have been a better plan so there would be a place for students to go to school if Journey closed.
